Nuts are designed by nature to pass through the body intact so they can take root and grow into new plants. This natural protective mechanism helps them retain their integrity but also makes it harder for us to access their full nutritional potential.
Through a process known as "activation," we unlock the goodness inside walnuts. This involves soaking the nuts to release enzyme inhibitors and phytic acid, followed by low-temperature dehydration to preserve their natural enzymes and nutrients.
The end product is a light, crunchy nut that we think you will agree, is as super delicious as it is super nutritious. It's still not wise to overeat on nuts though, however good we've made them taste! The rule is to eat as many in a day as you can hold in the palm of your hand. They're great for snacking, in a homemade trail mix, blended for a creamy nut milk, or crushed and sprinkled over a salad.

"I love these walnuts. They definitely taste different from the un-activated walnuts. And knowing that the activation releases their mineral content, and presumably their omega 3s makes them taste even better 😉 I’ve just ordered the activated mixed nuts for a full benefit of their various qualities. I keep all my nuts in the fridge to avoid oxidation but saying this, they don’t last very long! One problem… it’s difficult not to eat too many!!!"

"Bought these as a nutritional snack for the family. Sadly, the reviews are mixed. My initial reaction was that I wasn't a fan as the handful I ate was a bit too salty and there was some bitterness too but after a few more tries they've grown on me. Others in the family prefer the ones I activate and haven't been convinced. Was hoping these would relieve me of my walnut activating duties but it looks like that hasn't happened with this batch in any case. Maybe the next batch will be better should I decide to re-order."

They don't have that bitter / tannin taste like most walnuts do, they are kinda moorish aswell because they have such a different flavor but you can really taste the quality. I find they work exceptionally well in raw falafel ! Thank you for this amazing site."
